Biography:
Richard, the Company’s Manager for the third year running, has become so adept at handling the organisation for small Fringe productions that he thinks that he can do it in his sleep. Unfortunately this seems to rather irritate the Director who would rather not have to deal with a somnolent Manager.
Richard is reading Classics and Modern Languages (French and Latin) at St Anne’s College at the University of Oxford. In October he will enter the second year of his course, having been given the opportunity to defer for a year after a successful, if stressful, first year.
During his year out he spent three months travelling through various East-Asian countries: Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand. He also spent a couple of months doing some valuable work experience in a non-profit organisation in Sydney, town of his father’s birth and probably his destination following the completion of his degree in 2009.
Richard is interested in typography, page layout and Web design, being a stickler for the correct implementation of Web Standards — not for him any WYSIWYG design software; instead he prefers to write XHTML the way God intended it, in plain text. He is also trying to improve his photography skills.
This will be Richard’s last year with the Company — time, like an ever-rolling stream, bears us all away and this applies to the Company Manager just as much as it does to the rest of us. Although he’ll be missed by the Company, Richard leaves it in the capable hands of a Director and others who are in a position further to increase the amount they’ve already been doing for the Company’s administration.
